ABOUTThe Office of People Analytics (OPA) supports two command climate survey tools: 1) the Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS) and 2) the Department Organizational Climate Pulse (DOCP) Survey. Both the DEOCS and DOCP have customization for individual commands. This customization allows unit to select from a curated pool of items on relevant command climate and prevention topics not directly measured on the core DEOCS.
OPA has the opportunity to update both the DEOCS and DOCP pools annually, however, we collect content recommendations on a continuous basis. Given our required coordination steps, we will review DEOCS specific recommendations in the fall and DOCP recommendations in the spring. This form is open year-round so that we can review submissions on a rolling basis. OPA has the discretion to accept, reject, edit, or modify any submissions.
INSTRUCTIONS
To have an item or topic area considered for either the DEOCS or DOCP pools, fill out the entirety of the form and follow the guidance below for submitting recommended content. Individuals can submit up to five items or topic areas. If you have additional items to recommend, submit an additional form.
- Ensure submissions are unique and not duplicative of current DEOCS and/or DOCP items. Review the current question pools for either or both surveys on the Survey Resource Center on prevention.mil prior to submitting (https://www.prevention.mil/Climate-Portal/Defense-Climate-Portal-Survey-Resource-Center/).
- Response options are limited on the DEOCS and DOCP, ensure that recommended content follows the available response scales, as appropriate.
- Standardize recommended content as much as possible. DEOCS customized content must be applicable across Services and entire DoD populations. DOCP has some flexibility, with specificity to the Service-level (as applicable).
